The agency's founder

Joe Race opened The Allen Thomas Group in Akron, Ohio, in 2003. It was set up to compare carriers on the business owner's behalf instead of selling a single insurer's policies. Two decades on, it holds licenses in 28 states and places coverage with 12+ A-rated carriers.

HVAC Insurance Group grew out of that work. Heating and cooling contractors have a set of exposures that generic small-business insurance handles poorly: equipment you install inside people's homes, refrigerant and test gear in your vans, techs on ladders and roofs, and contracts from general contractors and property managers with specific insurance demands. A brand built only for HVAC lets our team ask the right questions from the first form field.
